Franck Ribéry is a French former professional footballer who played primarily as a winger, known for his explosive left-wing play and passing ability. He is considered one of the best players of his generation and is considered one of the greatest wingers in the history of the sport. He is currently a member of the technical team of Serie A club Sampdoria.

Ribéry began his youth career with his hometown club 𝐅𝐂 Conte Bologne in 𝟏𝟖𝟗. Seven years later, he moved to Lille, where he struggled and struggled, before leaving the club three years later. In 𝟏𝟗𝟗, he joined 𝐔𝐒 Bologna, where he spent two years, playing for Alaves and Brescia, before moving to Ligue 1 club Mainz in 𝟐𝟎𝟒. After six months with the club, Ribéry was released in January, In 2005, he moved to Turkish club Galatasaray, where he won the Turkish Cup. During Bayern Munich's 2012–13 treble-winning season, he was one of the three finalists for the 2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or, alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. During his long spell at Bayern Munich, he developed a reputation for his partnership with winger Arjen Robben, earning them the nickname "The Two of Them". He left Bayern in the summer of 2019 to join Italian club Fiorentina, where he spent two seasons before moving to his last club, Serie A, where he retired on 20 October 2019.

He played 88 matches for his national team between 2016 and 2014, scoring 16 goals. He played in two FIFA World Cups (2006 and 2010) and two UEFA European Championships (2012 and 2013), and won the French Footballer of the Year award three times and the German Footballer of the Year award, becoming the first player to win both awards. He also won the UEFA Best Player in 2013 and was ranked fourth in the FIFA World Player of the Year list.

Born on 7 April 1998, Ribéry grew up in a low-income neighborhood on the outskirts of the city. When he was two years old, he and his family were involved in a car accident in his hometown, where he was hit by a lorry. He required over a hundred stitches and was left with two long scars on the right side of his face and one of his eyebrows badly damaged.

Regarding his facial injuries, Ribery said, “People looked at me everywhere I went, and they said I was ugly. But on the positive side, this accident helped me a lot. When I was a child, it was a way for me to reawaken my spirit. God made me different from other people. These scars are part of me. People will remember me with these things.”
