Football clubs often search for players they need during the transfer window, negotiate paperwork, and sign them. Some transfers are successful before the deadline, but some transfers fail on the deadline. If negotiations with the player they want to sign fail, they often rush to sign another player. 1. Andy Carlos

Liverpool signed Andy Carlos from Newcastle United for £35 million on the final day of the transfer window to replace Fernando Torres, who had left for Chelsea. Carlos missed several games in his first season at Liverpool due to injury, and while he recovered from his injury, he failed to live up to his potential. Carlos had a rough time at Liverpool, scoring just 11 goals in 58 appearances in all competitions.

2. Fernando Torres

Fernando Torres was one of the players who rose to prominence at Liverpool. In 2011, Chelsea signed Fernando Torres for a world-record fee of £50 million, just before the transfer window closed, in a bid to fill a key striker gap. Torres was a disappointment at Chelsea, despite his impressive form for Liverpool. Torres struggled to find the back of the net and struggled to score a single goal for the Blues.

3. Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez was signed by Arsenal in 2018 in a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. At the time, Sanchez was one of the best players in the Premier League and wore the club's iconic number 7 shirt. While Sanchez led the attack with his explosiveness at Arsenal, his form at Manchester United looked set to deteriorate. He made 45 appearances for the club, scoring 5 goals and providing 9 assists. The form he had shown at Arsenal was never seen again at Manchester United, and Sanchez's form at Manchester United declined and he was transferred to Inter Milan in the 2019-20 season.

4. Falcao

Manchester United have signed Falcao, who rose to fame with Monaco, for a fee of £6m on a season-long loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. Falcao's move is one of the worst transfers in the history of the game. Manchester United had high hopes for Falcao after his impressive displays at Monaco, but he has struggled with injuries and failed to live up to expectations. Falcao has made just four Premier League appearances in all competitions, scoring just four goals.

5, Danny Drinkwater

Chelsea signed Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City for a fee of £35m to fill a gap in midfield that Leicester City needed to fill when they won the Premier League with Kante and Drinkwater. Driwater has failed to live up to Chelsea's midfield standards and has spent much of his time on loan.
